7 Effortless Ways to Ease the Mind Body & Soul

Do you ever feel the need to just ease that mind, body and soul of yours? It’s like one moment the mind is going, “monkey brain go party time,” next moment, your body follows and there’s the soul.. like it’s disconnected in a way.

In fact, I was once told that the present moment is the most unstable moment. Try balancing a pencil, one moment it’s balanced but milliseconds later (maybe minutes later or hours if you have managed to balance it properly) it falls. It’s like once the mind falls the body falls and so on. It’s like playing metaphorical dominos with your mind body and soul.

Additionally, an unstable moment does not necessarily mean it’s a bad moment. (Just get rid of the “un” from stable and than we’re stable LOL) But all in honesty, we just have cultivate ways to finding stillness within the mind, body and soul.

Here I have composed a list of 7 cultivating ways to ease the mind, body and soul.

Movement for the mind, body and soul

Hiking to ease the mind, body and soul from a long day of tree planting

Go on a little hike, it’s basically just walking with a scenic view. Get that dopamine up from physical activity and when the body feels good, the mind follows. Maybe even join a pilates class or go to the gym, dance, flow with life.

Nourishing your mind & body

Imagine this, you go on a 3 hour hike, see a refreshing waterfall and decide to fill some empty bottles up with some fresh water… only to realize the water could have fish pee? HAHA, just jokes. Grab some water and hydrate up. I’ll admit, sometimes I forget to drink water and the realization comes when I go to the gym and the tv screen says, “Tip: Hydrated muscles perform better.” Makes me chuckle every time.

Take some time to meditate

I’ll admit, a lot of the times I fall asleep meditating… But going into your zen feels FREEING. It is a moment to detach from the past and future. To find some kind of stillness, by being present. Bruce Lee once said, “Empty your mind. Be formless, shapeless, like water. You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup.” There’s many ways to meditate, you don’t just have to sit and close your eyes. You can take a walk, you can do a colouring book, pain, garden etc. You can even say some affirmations. I have a post on the 10 most powerful affirmations for success and happiness. https://beyondunknownworlds.com/10-most-powerful-positive-affirmations-for-success-happiness/

Read a book to calm the mind and soul

There was something I read that said, “if you’re feeling confused, read a book.” Reading a book is one pleasant way to ease the mind. it’s intriguing because I used to not be a reader, I would do anything except read a book. Now I don’t want to miss out on all the stories being told. If you are the type of person who wants to learn something new but don’t know how, reading can help.

Take time to reflect

"are you a woman in aviation, cuz thats pretty fly"

I would say take some time to reflect on who you are and who you wish to become. All in honesty, it’s refreshing to journal or write on how you feel. Set goals and create a system to allow you to reach those goals. I think it’s very beautiful to enjoy the journey to the destination (as cliche has it sounds) but learning to enjoy all the things that are not in your control can be daunting but the reflection can be so wholesome. Keep going, there’s nothing in this world you can’t do, you can do anything! 🙂

Seek an Adventure

Take your mind, body and soul on the best adventure ever. Think about this, life without an adventure, could you imagine? Adventure is always around us, You could adventure with your career, you can adventure with friends, you can adventure with your mind. Live in adventure, and adventure will live in you.

Social Connection

Last but not least, social connection. Go out with your friends, or talk to a family member. I also do understand that some of us may feel lonely and it is hard because I’ve been there and frankly sometimes the loneliness comes and goes. Sometimes social connection is really hard for others. What I did when I wanted to increase my social connections is by going to open mics and reading my poetry. I’ve met so many amazing people. Somethings you can do are volunteer, audition for a non-profit show, attend some events whether it’d be at your university or around your community.

That’s all I have for now to ease your mind body and soul. I hope you enjoyed reading this as much. Hope to see you on my next post 🙂 Don’t forget to check out my previous post on 7 Best Habits to implement in your life to balance busy with fun. https://beyondunknownworlds.com/7-best-habits-to-implement-in-your-life-to-balance-busy-with-fun/
